Hi everybody. My name is Bill and I am an addict. I guess it started off just over a year ago when my buddy coaxed me into a session. “Try it” he said, “it’s so sweet…”. So I tried it. And it was sweet. So I did it again the following week. And again, and again. Before long, I was up to 3 times a week! Well my friends, the Summer past by all too quickly (as it often does) and by the time the Fall arrived, I was up to four or five times a week. Man – I tell you, the time spent on my addiction was almost getting to be unbearable. But persevere I did, and kept it up all the way through the long, cold winter until the following month of March. And I was rewarded with a 1:43:12 in the Regina Hypothermic Half Marathon. Who am I? I’m just your average middle aged neighbour who realizes that life is short. Therefore we must make the most of it. More than a goal of just staying in shape – if I am going to invest all this time, I want to see some results. Don’t get me wrong – I have no illusions of winning a marathon. The mere participation is reward enough. Goals? Yes, we all have goals. Mine is currently a 3:30 marathon (Boston qualifying time.) My name is Bill, I am 47 years old, and I am a runner. I can be reached at bill@42k.ca |
